Jakarta is the capital and the largest city of Indonesia, located on the northwest coast of Java. It’s a rapidly growing city with the population of 9.5 million people. Jakarta’s look has been changing quickly due to the appearance of new skyscrapers and modern trade centers shining with their beaming windows. The center of the city is Merdeka Square with the 137-meter National Monument rising right in the middle of it. To the south of Jakarta is located park Taman Mini. The park is a synopsis of Indonesian culture with all aspects of daily life in Indonesia’s provinces encapsulated in separate pavilions. Not far from it there is the Permai Orchid Garden, tropical bird land, water palace and other Jakarta’s places of interest.
