The Brunello Lounge & Restaurant, with its exclusive independent entrance on Via Veneto, welcomes clients to a unique atmosphere which unites traditional Italian elegance with contemporary design. It is the ideal location in which to sample dishes of Mediterranean flavour made from extremely high-quality products. It is the most innovative lounge in Rome, perfect for a refined dinner but also for tasting imaginative cocktails.

Luciano Sarzi Sartori began to work professionally in Emilia Romagna, a land of richly authentic culinary traditions which dates back to ancient times.

His passion for cooking comes from his childhood, in fact at the age of 14, he used to work on the weekends as an assistant in a restaurant in his small village, Brugnolo, in the province of Cremona. “If you do this job, you must do it with commitment and passion” — the owner of the restaurant would say to him — “We must be precise even in the simple act of washing the salad, or peeling potatoes”. These words were the guidelines that accompanied him during his career and helped him to become a Chef of great success over the years.

After the first professional experiences in Emilia Romagna, Luciano Sarzi Sartori works on the Royal Princess Cruise, one of the largest cruise ship lines in the world, then for the Hotel Gallia in Punta Ala, the Stambecco in Cervinia, the Ginestre in Porto Cervo, the Abi D’Oru in Porto Rotondo, the Hotel Cristallo in Sestriere, the Grand Hotel et de Milan, the Carlton Baglioni and the Hotel Gray in Milan.

During his work at the Carlton Baglioni in Milan, the Chef had the honor of cooking for many celebrities, Jennifer Lopez, George Clooney, Veronica Lario and Silvio Berlusconi, to name a few.

The most unusual of circumstances, as told by the Chef, was to cook for the Dalai Lama while being supervised by the Dalai Lama′s personal chefs, dressed in traditional long robe, concerned about his nutrition and safety. Food quality and excellence of the service rendered were such that at the end of his stay, the Dalai Lama gifted the Chef and his staff, in gratitude and thankfulness, the Scarf of Peace. He has been head Chef at the Brunello Lounge & Restaurant since 2009.

Chef Luciano Sarzi Sartori’s cuisine in typical Mediterranean style is able to unite originality and tradition in an elegant way. Earth and sea menus and traditional Italian dishes served as small work of arts, revised and processed by Chef Luciano Sarzi Sartori, surprise the eye and the palate, a pleasure for all the senses. Many are the occasions during which the talented Chef has been able to show his culinary performances.

Last February, the Chef was featured in the 2010 edition of “Girogustando — Chefs of Italy meet in Siena”, an event sponsored by Confesercenti Siena characterized by the exhibition of “couple” that stands next to a cook Siena, a colleague from the rest of Italy. On that occasion, the talented Chef made known his abilities and his specialty in Mediterranean cuisine.

Furthermore, the elegant restaurant of the Regina Hotel Baglioni, received in December 2009 from Gotha Taste the ′International Certificate of Excellence′. Gotha Taste is an independent international agency which since 1999 bringing together more than 200 food and wine journalists prestigious newspapers and television and food experts with the purpose of rewarding and enhancing what is beautiful, good, genuine and traditional but also innovative and respectful of the canons of excellence and total quality.
