Luciano Sarzi Sartori began to work professionally in Emilia Romagna, a land of richly authentic culinary traditions which dates back to ancient times.
His passion for cooking comes from his childhood, in fact at the age of 14, he used to work on the weekends as an assistant in a restaurant in his small village, Brugnolo, in the province of Cremona. “If you do this job, you must do it with commitment and passion” — the owner of the restaurant would say to him — “We must be precise even in the simple act of washing the salad, or peeling potatoes”. These words were the guidelines that accompanied him during his career and helped him to become a Chef of great success over the years.
After the first professional experiences in Emilia Romagna, Luciano Sarzi Sartori works on the Royal Princess Cruise, one of the largest cruise ship lines in the world, then for the Hotel Gallia in Punta Ala, the Stambecco in Cervinia, the Ginestre in Porto Cervo, the Abi D’Oru in Porto Rotondo, the Hotel Cristallo in Sestriere, the Grand Hotel et de Milan, the Carlton Baglioni and the Hotel Gray in Milan.
During his work at the Carlton Baglioni in Milan, the Chef had the honor of cooking for many celebrities, Jennifer Lopez, George Clooney, Veronica Lario and Silvio Berlusconi, to name a few.
The most unusual of circumstances, as told by the Chef, was to cook for the Dalai Lama while being supervised by the Dalai Lama′s personal chefs, dressed in traditional long robe, concerned about his nutrition and safety. Food quality and excellence of the service rendered were such that at the end of his stay, the Dalai Lama gifted the Chef and his staff, in gratitude and thankfulness, the Scarf of Peace. He has been head Chef at the Brunello Lounge & Restaurant since 2009.
