A visit to The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Tokyo is an ethereal journey, where expert therapists guide through a personal voyage selecting luxurious treatments devised from both Asian and Western-inspired traditions. Heat and water experiences will ease the body and relieve the mind. The vitality pool gently releases muscle tension, the crystal steam room offers a meditative experience and a splash from the ice fountain provides a sharp arctic refresher.
The deep-cleansing Azuki Ritual combines the anti-oxidizing effects of Azuki beans with sea salt, sesame seeds, patchouli, vetiver, ginger and geranium for a softening and conditioning body scrub. A relaxing oil massage leaves the body moisturized, nourished and balanced.
The ancient healing Razul Ritual offers natural remedies for good health, relaxation and vitality. Natural mud is carefully selected and soothingly applied to all parts of the body and face. The ritual is concluded with a full-body oil treatment.
Oriental Essence Massage is part of Mandarin Oriental’s signature spa therapies and has been designed to specifically relieve neck and shoulder tension. The massage concentrates on easing stress, re-aligning the mind, soothing emotions and relaxing the body. The signature body oil is blended with warming ginger, uplifting mandarin and sacred frankincense.
Within the hotel there is a state of the art Fitness Center cycling through the sky-view 38 floors above the city. The French-inspired cuisine offers carefully constructed menus where the dishes - true to the Japanese aesthetic - are both individually beautiful and the perfect complement to the next dish. An extensive wine list includes sommelier’s choice of bio-dynamic and organic wines. Private dining is available.
Sense offers views towards the East of the city and flavors from the East. This authentic and contemporary Cantonese cuisine is prepared with a particular deft delicacy, offering exquisitely light flavors. Sense is awarded one-star status in the Michelin Guide. The panoramic views of Tokyo City are almost eclipsed by a unique structure, with a dramatic interplay of fire and water; reflecting the inspirational symbolism of these two elements.
Reaching through the atrium to the ceiling above is a wall of fire; this fabulous structure is the visual focus of 37th floor Sense Tea Corner. More than twenty different types of fragrant teas from around the world are served, from green tea with powerful healing properties to pu-erh tea for true connoisseurs. A selection of Cantonese sweets is available. High Tea offers exquisite Hong Kong delicacies with carefully selected Chinese teas. Each serving of tea is skillfully prepared in traditional Chinese style right at guest’s table. With its relaxed and serene atmosphere, Sense Tea Corner is the perfect place to socialize and appreciate the purity and splendor of tea, while also taking in the majestic views across Tokyo. Adjacent to Sense restaurant, Sense Tea Corner is an ideal place to convene after dinner.
K’shiki offers fantastic views towards the lively business district of Tokyo and genuinely inventive cuisine. The culinary highlights begin with Breakfast, which is served from 6 a.m. and features Western, Japanese and a la carte options. At lunchtime, K’shiki offers quick and light lunch options including a variety of delicious salads, sandwiches and light entrees. K’shiki’s dinner menu likewise has an Asian influence and features a variety of imaginative dishes, including grilled Japanese beef and signature soup of the season. During dinner, guests can enjoy the Wine Journey and explore a complimentary tasting of chef sommelier’s recommended wines consisting of 14 superb champagnes and wines from around the world.
Set in an atrium, casual but chic Ventaglio offers an unmatched sense of space and light along with authentic and delicious Italian cuisine. At lunchtime, Ventaglio is renowned for its sumptuous antipasti and dessert buffets and for delicious pasta served a la minute.
Guests are welcome to experience innovative culinary art of molecular cuisine. Served sushi bar-style, Tapas Molecular Bar is situated within the chic Oriental Lounge on the 38th floor, with magnificent views stretching out towards the Imperial Palace, the Shinjuku district, and over Ueno. Tapas Molecular Bar is awarded one-star status in the Michelin Guide. Glass plates and steel menus set the scene. The equipment of syringes and pipettes demonstrates the science of this unique approach to flavor, producing a remarkable tasting experience. In the course of about two hours chefs will prepare 20 bite-sized delicacies.
Mandarin Bar is a microcosm of futuristic luxury. This gallery of design incorporates an astounding blend of surfaces, textures and shapes. Mandarin Bar is a chic space to retire after dinner and enjoy live music. Besides it is the only smoking section on 37 Floor.
Oriental Lounge is the hotel nucleus. Refreshments are available all day, and from lunchtime a select menu features specialty dishes from three of the talented chefs. Afternoon tea is served in the legendary oriental fashion renowned around the world. In the evening the lights are lowered and the sound of live music winds up the staircase from the dining floor below. Low lit candles warm the mood whilst allowing maximum clarity to the splash of city lights through the floor to ceiling glass windows.
For those with a mellower agenda The Cigar Cellar is located right next to the reception desk, stocked with an extensive selection of humidified cigars. After 5 p.m. guests are welcome to savor their cigars in the lounge.
Mandarin Oriental Gourmet Shop offers only the finest home-made cakes, chocolates and breads for take away. All delights from pastries to fine teas are beautifully presented, making even the smallest selection something special.
