Infrastructure

CHI, The Spa, at Shangri-La draws inspiration from the origins of the Shangri-La legend; a place of personal peace, enchantment and well-being. Guests can enjoy a bespoke wellness experience by undergoing a private consultation with nutritionists and ayurvedic doctors to develop personalized programmes. Located in a secluded area of the resort, CHI, The Spa offers twelve treatment rooms decorated in Shangri-La’s signature CHI style complimented by local design elements. The spa menu includes Chinese and Ayurvedic treatments and our therapists use 100% natural spa products.

A health club, a 30-metre sunset pool and an additional free-form lagoon pool offer recreational opportunities and facilities unparalleled in Sri Lanka.

The Cool Zone Kids Club is open every day and there are plenty of other activities to keep younger guests happy with a 7m high trapeze, a drone flying area, outdoor water park, childrens’ pool and childcare facilities.

Shangri-La’s Hambantota Resort & Spa, Sri Lanka, offers meetings and events facilities that cater to the highest level of international business, diplomatic and social gatherings. The Grand Ballroom can host large events with a seating capacity of almost 1500, while the five smaller function rooms can be customised for a variety of occasions. Each venue features modern audio-visual equipment.

The Village is a space dedicated to supporting and preserving Sri Lanka’s unique artisan communities. All guests can interact with local craftsmen to learn about traditional arts & crafts through a daily schedule of activities. In the evenings, the village transforms into a special dining venue, where guests can immerse themselves in traditional Sri Lankan music and watch awe-inspiring performances of Angampora — Sri Lanka’s indigenous martial art and one of the oldest fighting disciplines in the world.

Dining

At Bojunhala, we invite our guests to learn how to cook some of our signature dishes, such as mud crab jaffna curry, or to get involved with one of our many theme nights. Our interactive food stations go beyond the traditional buffet, and our a-la-carte menu will take you on a culinary journey across Sri Lanka.

We also have a dedicated kids’ area. Here, young ones can have a fun dining experience through activity-based meals and custom stations built just for them. Up to 2 children of registered hotel guests that are under the age of 12 can enjoy complimentary buffet meals when accompanied by a paying adult.

Comfort foods from the streets of Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and China, all made with locally-grown produce, are on the menu at Sera. The restaurants dishes are freshly prepared before guests’ eyes.

At Gimanhala Lounge guests can enjoy healthy, freshly made drinks after a morning yoga class; afternoon tea or a selection from the cocktail trolley after a day’s exploring; champagne at sunset and a nightcap by candlelight.

Inspired by Sri Lanka’s colonial heritage, Ulpatha is the perfect place to unwind after a game of golf, with a fine selection of malt whiskies and other beverages and snacks.
