Amanoi

Nha Trang, Vietnam

Drawing its name from the Sanskrit-derived word for ‘peace’ and nơi meaning ‘place’ in Vietnamese, Amanoi is a tranquil beachside retreat. Situated atop a hill at the property’s highest point, the Central Pavilion houses a number of relaxation and dining venues. The Central Pavilion’s expansive terrace offers superb views of the East Sea. The Library is situated below the restaurant, and offers a varied selection of reading material in several languages, together with a music collection and board games. Next to the Central Pavilion is the Cliff Pool, one of two main swimming pools.

Guest accommodation includes 31 Pavilions, and five Aman Villas, all with impressive views. The design of the Pavilions and Aman Villas combines contemporary style with traditional Vietnamese architectural features to complement the natural surroundings. Pavilions are identical in layout and interior design, and each offers a combined living and sleeping area. Ideal for private dining, each pavilion has a terrace with a dining area and two sun loungers. Other features include a king-size bed, sofa, writing desk, LCD TV with international channels and wireless Internet. The bathroom opens onto the deck. Sixteen of the pavilions feature private infinity edge swimming pools. Views are either of the sea or look inland over a lotus-filled lake towards the hills of the National Park.

Location

Renowned for its spectacular coastline, majestic mountain ranges and dramatic sand dunes, Ninh Thuan Province is rich in natural treasures including Nui Chua National Park. Amanoi is situated on a wide, mountainous promontory of the National Park, overlooking Vinh Hy Bay — known as one of Vietnam’s four most beautiful bays. Located 55 kilometres south of Cam Ranh Airport, Vinh Hy is surrounded by unique rock formations. A marine reserve adjoins the National Park and is home to a large variety of sea corals, tropical fish species, and hawksbill and green sea turtles.

Vinh Hy Bay is accessed via Cam Ranh Airport which services Nha Trang. Cam Ranh Airport is a one-hour flight from Ho Chi Minh City, a one-hour-and-45-minute flight from Hanoi or a one-hour-and-25-minute flight from Danang. The flight is followed by a scenic 75-minute drive to Vinh Hy Bay.

Infrastructure

Amanoi’s extensive Aman Spa is a destination unto itself, providing a serene setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. Set beside a lotus-filled lake, it enjoys a prime position on the property, surrounded by the National Park’s rolling hills. Facilities include five double treatment rooms, all with unique double bathtubs, private dressing areas and showers; two hydrotherapy suites; hand & foot therapy rooms; and a hair & finishing salon where manicures and pedicures can be enjoyed. A number of relaxation lounges with tranquil views are ideal for taking time out before or after a treatment.

Amanoi’s fitness options include a spacious, light-filled Gymnasium, a Pilates Studio and a lakeside Yoga Pavilion. There are also two outdoor tennis courts and two swimming pools — one close to the Central Pavilion on top of the hill, and the other at the Beach Club beside the white-sand beach. There are also a number of scenic walking, running and trekking routes on the property. The Beach Club is located on the sandy white beach of Vinh Hy Bay, and it offers lounging and dining areas, as well as a swimming pool. A complete range of water sports equipment is provided including snorkelling gear and kayaks.

Amanoi offers guests easy access to the region’s spectacular beaches, marine reserves and pristine interior. Amanoi can arrange guides, picnics and all necessary transport for excursions into the nui chua national park. In the Vinh Hy Bay Sea Conservation Area, there are 307 varieties of rare corals. Snorkelling is particularly enjoyable as the protection offered by the many rock islands ensures calm, clear waters. Vinh Hy Bay is known as one of Vietnam’s four most beautiful bays, and exploring its interesting rock formations, hidden caves and secret inlets by kayak or Hobie Cat should not be missed. Fishing is the main industry in Vinh Hy Bay.

Dining

The Restaurant occupies the very heart of the Central Pavilion. Elegant and spacious, it offers an air-conditioned interior, as well as shaded al fresco dining areas. The Bar is set beneath the Central Pavilion’s graceful eaves with views of rolling hills and distant mountains. A selection of drinks and light snacks are served.

The Beach Club is a romantic venue for sunset drinks and evening dining. The menu features a selection of Vietnamese and international dishes. Cooking classes with Amanoi’s chefs are also available.
