Maya Ubud

Bali, Indonesia

Maya Ubud Resort & Spa sits in splendid seclusion, bordered by the dramatic Petanu River Valley to the east and the vibrant rice fields of Peliatan on the west. The ten hectare tract of land is itself a tranquil haven of tropical gardens and architect-designed thatched buildings, private pool villas and luxury guestrooms.

Designed by award-winning architect, Budiman Hendropurnomo of Denton Corker Marshall, Maya Ubud Resort & Spa is inspired by the ancient Balinese wisdom of orientation. A ceremonial walkway along the central ridge of the property connects all public spaces from the porte-cochere, through the lobby and down to the riverside spa. All villas are then positioned on either side to reflect the ambience of a harmonious village that follows the contours of the land.

Conceptually, the resort is a celebration of Bali’s cultural heritage. However, in terms of décor, it ventures beyond the island to include an eclectic collection of antiques. Reclaimed timbers have been used together with more modern natural materials to create unique interiors rich in character. Old cartwheels have been fashioned into mirror frames, tabletops were once teakrailway sleepers and traditional fish traps and baskets are now handcrafted lampshades.

Maya Ubud features two types of rooms: Deluxe and Superior 43 sq.m. both, and villas from Deluxe Villa (50sq.m.) to Presidental Villa (235 sq.m.).

It is a leisurely twenty-five minute stroll from Maya Ubud to the colorful and bustling village of Ubud, with its fascinating market, art museums and galleries, shopping boutiques and restaurants.

Balancing the human senses through holistic harmony is elevated to the highest level at the Spa at Maya. From the simplest treatment to an extended sensory journey, skilled and caring therapists have but one goal — to create memorable experiences for guests. These sensual enjoyments cover the sensations of relaxation, renewal, revitalization and refreshment beside the swirling waters of Petanu River, amidst the lushness of the rainforest for a feeling of total euphoria. In consideration of other guests and to preserve the peace and tranquility of the Spa at Maya, River Café, the Spa Pool and its surrounding environs, children are not permitted into this area of the resort. A children’s pool is available adjacent to the main pool close by the lobby in the central area of the resort.

The fully air-conditioned Fitness Center features the latest state-of-the-art exercise equipment offering our resort guests the opportunity to enjoy their regular workout whilst on vacation. Located at the upper level of the fitness center, a generous 187 square meter space provides an excellent venue for daily yoga in a tranquil atmosphere, with stunning views over the resort gardens and adjacent rice terraces.

Two pools set amidst the forest green, overhanging the river valley and at the riverside and private swimming pools for each deluxe villa, duplex villa and presidential villa. Suspended between sky above and valley below, adrift in beauty and tranquility, a chance to retreat and enjoy the breathtaking vistas. Dedicated to the pursuits of physical and spiritual wellbeing, Maya Ubud Resort & Spa tennis facilities offer you the opportunity to practice your volley and serve. Hardcourt, floodlit for night play, racquets and balls and practice partners available on request.

For your convenience, Maya Ubud Resort & Spa offers complimentary desktop Apple iMac computers with high speed internet connection and printer at the Hotel Business Center and Library located in the main lobby.

Also the hotel offers cooking classes with Balinese Chefs who share their culinary secrets about local cuisine. After a brief tour of the Organic Spice and Herb Garden, you will be taken to village style kitchen and shown how to prepare five popular dishes. This is followed by a relaxing lunch to sample your very own creations.

At Maya Sari an extensive breakfast buffet is available as soon as the first rays of daylight filter through the trees to bring the valley to life. Dinner promises evenings of casual elegance with culinary choices ranging from international fare to local favorites paired with wines of the world.

Asiatique is a charming dinner setting that opens up onto a courtyard fountain and manicured gardens. It serves specialty dishes from top Asian destinations where regional food is defined by rich layers of flavour. The restaurant also features an authentic teppanyaki counter for a theatrical dining experience that is cooked to order.

With a focus on serving wholesome food, the menu at River Café is driven by organic and sustainably sourced ingredients. All dietary needs are anticipated with a full selection of vegetarian, gluten free, non-dairy and ‘conscious cuisine’ options. Clean, fresh, natural and crisp dishes are balanced to nourish the body, mind and soul.

Located just off the Lobby, Bar Bedulu is an elegant open-plan pavilion with wrap-around views of the resort edged by lush valley greenery. It is an inviting space with seating arranged for intimate drinks or more social gatherings. The bar serves a full menu of beverages and snacks throughout the day until late.
