Recreation

Whether travelling plans include tropical adventure, rejuvenation or pure relaxation, Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa offers an enticing array of activities for both adults and young people.

Hotel’s signature spa, CHI, is the largest and most luxuriously appointed spa in Penang. Each treatment takes place in one of eleven private spa villas, allowing visitors to indulge their senses in spacious and private surroundings. Signature rituals include Chi Balance, Himalayan Healing Stone Massage, Aroma Vitality and Rasa Asmaradana.

Dining

Exclusively situated on the mezzanine floor of Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa, the Feringgi Grill offers diners a bird’s eye view of the resort’s lush tropical greenery. Cuisine served is impeccable, where gourmands savor exquisitely-prepared modern grill cuisine. For a taste of the Grill’s delightful selections, special weekly set menus by Chef Adam Roy are available to tempt diners. Wine connoisseurs can indulge in the restaurant’s extensive selection of vintages from both the Old and New World, and cigar aficionados are spoilt for choice with Feringgi Grill’s world-class selection of cigars.

The Feringgi Bar, adjacent to the Feringgi Grill, makes it an ideal place to relax before and after dinner with cocktails and champagne. The bar also offers live entertainment.

The Spice Market Cafe is an informal buffet-style restaurant that offers authentic cuisines from diverse cultures that reflect Penang’s heritage as a cultural crossroads: Chinese, Indian, Nyonya-Baba, Japanese, Thai, Western and international. The cafe is right beside the unique free-form swimming pools, under a canopy of century-old rain trees that echo with the delightful sounds of chirping tropical birds. At the entrance to the cafe guests will find the Spice Boutique, where they can purchase some of the most exotic spices in Asia. The boutique features over 100 varieties of dried herbs and spices, with varieties of curry powders and other ingredients for travelers to take home.

Guests in the Rasa Wing have exclusive use of the Rasa Wing Lounge, which serves complimentary coffee, tea, juices and soft drinks throughout the day, alcoholic beverages excluding champagne from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

When the sun begins to set, it’s time to head to Pinang, a poolside bar that offers al fresco dining at its finest. Sundown is marked by the strike of a gong, indicating the start of the popular beachside Happy Hour.

Tepi Laut (meaning «seashore»), is aptly name for a bar and restaurant located just 10 meters away from gently rolling waves. The roof architecture recalls old palaces of Malay Sultans.
