Location
You can reach The Chedi Andermatt by car from Zurich in 90 minutes and from Lucerne in 60 minutes. From the motorway exit Göschenen, it is just 10 minutes up to Andermatt.
Accomodation
Dream away in The Chedi Andermatt in one of the 123 exclusive rooms and suites. And allow yourself to be spirited away to an Alpine/Asian world by the look of dark wood, soft leather sofas and gentle colours. All rooms and suites are at least 52 square metres in size with large picture windows looking out over the unique mountain landscape.
Deluxe Room
Come in and relax in our Deluxe Rooms which are 52 to 55 square metres in size. You are greeted by traditional Alpine woods, your own fireplace and natural stone that ensure a warm atmosphere. Murals, inspired in part by the seventeenth-century European master of the art Peter Paul Rubens, and wood panelling with sunk-in bronze lamps behind the bed are also unique focal points. Guests who prefer to enjoy the world outside will naturally gaze through the large picture windows that may face the Urseren Valley, the Gemsstock Mountain, the Nätschen Mountain or the Schöllenen Gorge. The Chedi Andermatt will make sure you feel good all over.
Grand Deluxe Suite
The Grand Deluxe Suites are located in the adjacent 'The Chedi Residences' wing which you can access using an attractively styled interior passageway. With its five bedrooms, five bathrooms and 350 square metres of floor space over two floors, the Gotthard Suite is a luxurious family paradise. Andermatt
Surrounded by the naturally stunning, year-round beauty of the Swiss Alps, The Chedi Andermatt nestles elegantly among the traditional ski chalets so characteristic of the timelessly charming village of Andermatt. Andermatt (1,440 metres above sea level) is a large village in the Urseren Valley embedded in 1.4 million square kilometres of natural Alpine landscape which is renowned far beyond the Swiss borders for its high peaks, deep gorges, cascading waterfalls and clear mountain lakes.
In the summer, for example, you can enjoy the idyllic hiking trails; in winter, the reliable snowfall makes it the perfect location for active winter sport experiences. The long history of the Urseren Valley can be experienced in the Talmuseum Ursern, housed in a beautiful, historical building dating back to 1786. This idyllic region is also home to the Devil’s Bridge, the Uri Hole (one of the first tunnels in the Alps) and the Suworow monument beside the Schöllenen Gorge.

A helicopter flight — which includes a bottle of champagne — gives a birds-eye look at what is arguably Switzerland’s most beautiful Alpine panorama. The drive to and from the airfield is coolly done in a chauffeured Audi Etron.
You will spend three nights in a generous Deluxe Suite with handmade beds by Hästens and an own wine cabinet. The right ambience is supplied by the suite’s own fireplace. For the palate, there is the four-course dinner at The Restaurant, holder of 14 GaultMillau points, and the “Goldfinger” welcoming cocktail. In The Restaurant our Chef de Cuisine, Armin Egli, will tempt you with dishes from four different, stylish open studio kitchens showcasing both Asian and European fare. Surrounded by exquisite aromas, watch the food being prepared directly and freshly in front of you. The Restaurant has 14 GaultMillau points and is compelling not only because of its excellent cuisine but also its unique ambience. A particular highlight in The Restaurant is The Wine and Cheese Cellar: at five metres high it attracts cheese connoisseurs who marvel at its delights through the glass walls. The Japanese Restaurant
In The Japanese Restaurant, executive chef Dietmar Sawyere and his sushi masters tempt you with top-flight authentic Japanese dishes. Enjoy the very best cuisine at the sushi and sashimi bar. The modern five- to ten-course Kaiseki menus, a speciality of The Japanese Restaurant, ensure an authentic experience. They correspond to a multiple-course Japanese dinner and are on the lines of western haute cuisine, as they combine the taste, texture, form and colours of the foods at the highest level and in perfect harmony. And a meal would not be the same without a glass of sake to discover all the facets of the culinary world of Japan. The Japanese Restaurant has the most extensive sake selection in Switzerland. In 2017, our exclusive The Japanese Restaurant was awarded 1 Michelin Star and 16 GaultMillau points.
The Japanese by The Chedi Andermatt
With the new Japanese restaurant on Mount Gütsch, star cook Dietmar Sawyere has further refined the unique concept of The Japanese in what is Switzerland’s highest-altitude Japanese restaurant. The menu is accordingly sophisticated, with the finest Japanese dishes like shidashi bentō, omakase, kaiseki, sushi and tempura prepared for you fresh at 2300m above sea-level. The Japanese by The Chedi Andermatt is a hotspot for hikers, skiers and gourmets, whom it invites to enjoy culinary highlights accompanied by views of Gotthard, the Oberalp pass and the Ursern Valley.

The Courtyard
The Courtyard is the place to be in The Chedi Andermatt during the summer months: both residents and external guests can offer a toast to the spectacular Swiss Alpine panorama with a cool refreshing cocktail here in the shadow of the Gemsstock mountain. In winter, The Courtyard turns into The Ice-Rink, and invites you for ice skating or curling. After a few laps on The Ice Rink, our bar team is delighted to serve you a hot cup of mulled wine or a glass of champagne.

The Chalet
In the winter, we will be pleased to welcome you to our intimate, rustic-chic The Chalet, located within The Courtyard. Among the Alpine wood beams and homey, red and white checked tablecloths, dine on exquisite Swiss classics paired with fine European wines. Try a portion of warming raclette or our exclusive truffled fondue. It's a shame really that The Chalet is only open in winter!
