Infrastructure
Maya SPA and Ikal
The different elements impact our body in very specific ways. Our treatments represent these varying energies of the elements to align you with the rhythms of nature for your enhanced well being. Ancient rituals. We return to the Mayan medicinal tradition in this Zumpulche ceremony. In a steam bath with four phases or doors that represent the four elements the state of the body before birth is recreated. Through hot stones, medicinal herbalism and shamanic songs, we cure our being in an experience that makes us sweat fears and negativity to be reborn, just like the ancient Mayans did. Alchemy that reveals your inner beauty. The alchemy of beauty joins the wisdom of the natural properties of local flora and the power of sacred stones. Specialists with great knowledge perform daily, yet sacred, rituals of transformation.
Yoga Sessions
We become conscious in a practice that helps us unite mind and body. In an environment that invites us to reconnect, the dome of AZULIK, we get involved in this millenary practice that guides us towards mental peace and the harmony of our being. Here you can also experience Sound Healing Session and many other unique rituals. Start your day with a private yoga session at the ruins of Tulum in a special and private schedule. Visit a pristine hidden bay, where you will practice paddleboard or kayak and dive into the second largest reef in the world.
Sfer Ik Museum
In this contemporary art museum, the centerpiece of AZULIK Uh May, some of the world’s finest visual artists gather to find innovative ways of experiencing and creating art. With two exhibition spaces, SFER IK Museion is the premier destination for contemporary art in Tulum and Francisco Uh May comprising exhibitions, cutting-edge workshops and innovative artist residencies.
Architecture Laboratories
We have put together a team of creators who are developing new architectural elements. In state-of-the-art workshops, these talented local artisans experiment with different materials to transform them into pieces that become integral features of our spaces. Brass, wood, and stone fuse with henequen and cotton macramé. Original ceramic pieces are made from scratch, sintered in purpose-built ovens, and finished by hand. The art of glassblowing overhauls our approach to lighting.
Patagonia
The Mapuche-Cayún community was established with the sole purpose of protecting their land. Thanks to their commitment, several hydroelectric projects that threatened to destroy thousands of hectares of native forest have been halted. Within 230 hectares, including 5 kilometers of coast along two lakes, we will build artists residences to house projects involving the native communities. As part of our native forest protection project, we will create a Larch National Park containing trees more than 300 years old, as well as building 10 exclusive residences.
Technology for all
Technology can change our lives for the better. It can make us safer, improve livelihoods and guide us on the path towards sustainability. This is why we have conceived projects that bring technology closer to the local community in an effort to drive socially and ecologically minded development in the region. We are bringing solar power to Mayan communities. In expert-led workshops, community members are taught to assemble their own panels, in order to promote a clean power source and improve basic living standards. Our goal is to use solar power to sustain the needs of the communities of the Yucatan Peninsula.
Amazonia
There are 1000 Shipibo communities in this land. They preserve an ancestral knowledge of medicinal plants and are natural-born healers. We will build artist’s residences, where artists will work with native communities and the works of art created here will be sold with 100% of the proceeds going to the local native communities to be used for the creation of fish farms and greenhouse farming: The fish farms will provide an alternative for the local people to eating fish from the rivers contaminated by illegal mining. The greenhouses will help them enrich their diets and avoid the continuous burning of hundreds of thousands of acres a year to obtain rich soil for yucca plantations.
Atelier Aníkena
Atelier Aníkena, our fashion production workshop, is a place full of magic. Here, unique designs are dreamed up, fabrics are dyed and dresses embroidered. Residues from the hotel are given new life and transformed into beautiful garments that carrie the essence of nature. At the same time, we are exploring the applications of boucherouite, an old moroccan weaving technique that is traditionally used to create colorful rugs out of diverse fabrics. These ancestral practices enrich the cultural perspective of our projects, allowing us to innovate while learning from great cultures of the past.
Zak Ik boutique
A boutique that inspires us to rethink fashion. Nested in AZULIK Tulum, this store challenges logic with its ephemeral architecture. In a multi-sensorial experience, it invites you to interact with space and the unique pieces it contains. History, tradition and craft come together in a space that attempts to rescue ancient manufacturing techniques of several corners of Latin America and fuse them with cutting-edge design.
Ik Raum Kuboraum
Kuboraum eyewear are not inanimate and inorganic objects. They change the perception of self, and those who wear them come to life and accept the challenge to free their identities.
