El Celler de Can Roca is a restaurant in Girona, Catalonia, Spain. Founded in 1986 by the three Roca brothers next to the family restaurant that makes traditional meals. The oldest brother, Joan Roca is the head chef; Josep Roca, the middle brother, is the sommelier, and the youngest brother, Jordi Roca, is in charge of desserts. It has been awarded three Michelin stars.

In late 2007 the restaurant moved to a modern building custom-built for the restaurant about 100 meters from the prior location. They have created some dishes and desserts based on perfumes such as Calvin Klein′s Eternity, Carolina Herrera, Dior′s Hypnotic Poison, Bvlgari, Lancme′s Trsor, etc.Contents

The Celler de can Roca concept is best described as a triangle. A triangle with three vertices — Joan, Josep and Jordi-which. In the most perfect harmony, delineate a scenario where emotions and sensations excite and fill the palate.

Their culinary resaerchactivities are also driven by a three ponged approach: on the one hand there is tradition-the landscapes of memory-on the other, an intellectual component-which brings us closer to the world of emotions and lastly an academic element which, far from disregarding classical cooking techniques, evolves them and creates new ways to awaken customers’ taste memory: forgotten flavours and aromas that bring to mind moods and personal memories otherwise distant in tima and space.

El Celler de Can Roca opened its doors in August 1986. The first dish Joan created, Sole with rosemary and garlic vinaigrette, was to be followed by over twenty years of evolution: new techniques new concepts, etc.

Dishes that are revisited, reinterpreted, reinvented...New creative routes to explore, the search for a signature cuisine in its own right, the need to say something in a very special way.

Joan’s contribution, Josep’s contribution, Jordi’s contribution...they complement and balance each other.

The passage of days at Ell Celler shows the evolution of their cuisine and the most outstanding dishes served each year. The menus section includes the different menus that can be enjoyed El Celler de Can Roca.

In 2011 El Celler de Can Roca was voted second best restaurant in the world by Restaurant magazine.

In 2010 the restaurant was listed as 4th best in the world.

The restaurant was voted 5th best in the world by Restaurant magazine in 2009.
