Bvlgari Hotel Roma

Rome, Italy

9°C 23:26:51

Opened on June 9, 2023

Bvlgari Hotel Roma is now open. The Hotel represents a new expression of the Bvlgari spirit in the Eternal City. An instantly iconic destination given Rome’s role as Bvlgari’s hometown and endless font of inspiration, the new property occupies an illustrious address at Piazza Augusto Imperatore in the heart of the Campo Marzio district. Bvlgari Hotel Roma is home to 110 Rooms and Suites decorated in a colour palette inspired by the city, as well as Bvlgari Hotels’ signature dining and lifestyle experiences, including Il Ristorante - Niko Romito, the Bvlgari Bar, the Lobby Lounge, the Spa, and Italy’s first Bvlgari Dolci chocolatier and patisserie.

Inspired by the imperial splendor of its setting, the design of the new Bvlgari Hotel blends past and present. Channeling that unique legacy, its Roman heritage is impeccably expressed in every design detail — for a monument to contemporary elegance that exudes an extraordinary sense of place. 110 Suites, Spa, Pool, gym, and library dedicated to the history of jewellery, the Hotel will be home to the magnificent Bvlgari Suite, which looks out over the Mausoleum of Emperor Augustus, as well as Bvlgari’s signature dining and drinks destinations: The Bvlgari Bar and Il Ristorante - Niko Romito.

The principals of architecture firm ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel share their process for reimagining Bvlgari Hotel Roma’s distinctive heritage in the context of Bvlgari’s striking aesthetic. Using imperial marble in a contemporary way, the designers worked with large blocks of colour to evoke Bvlgari’s identity as the Roman jeweller. Through the architects’ bold vision, the original 1940s building has been transformed into magnificent modern monument.

Location

Bvlgari Hotel Roma is situated in the heart of Rome’s historic center, on the renowned Piazza Augusto Imperatore, surrounded by majestic monuments and cultural landmarks. The hotel is approximately a 30-45 minute drive from Leonardo da Vinci International Airport, with private transfers available for your convenience. Its prime position in an iconic area makes it an ideal choice for discerning travelers seeking luxury and a rich historical ambiance.

Infrastructure

BvlgaBvlgari Hotel Rome is a stylish luxury hotel from the renowned fashion house Bvlgari, perfect for those who appreciate opulence, elegance, and exceptional comfort. Guests will experience a unique blend of contemporary design, Italian chic, and the rich heritage of the brand, creating an unparalleled atmosphere of sophistication.

Bvlgari Spa

A true temple of wellbeing, the Bvlgari Spa evokes the atmosphere of ancient Roman baths, with marble columns that rise from the swimming pool and coloured glass to bathe the space in soft, warm light. Encompassing 1500 square metres, it’s an oasis of peace to rebalance body, mind and spirit.

The Spa is home to eight treatment rooms, a state-of-the-art Spa Suite featuring a green onyx bath, and a 20-metre indoor pool decorated with shimmering mosaics which draw inspiration from motifs used in the celebrated Baths of Caracalla. Exclusive spa treatments are designed by Augustinus Bader.

Pool

In the grand tradition of Roman baths, the Pool is the centrepiece of the Spa experience. The heart of the 1500-square-metre oasis is the large natatio, a 20-metre pool decorated with glistening mosaics by Bisazza, reminiscent of the motifs seen in the celebrated Baths of Caracalla, which are also a source of inspiration for Bvlgari’s Divas Dream collection. Eight columns clad in ribbed arabesque marble rise up in the centre of the pool, which is fed by two bronze spouts that echo Morpurgo’s fountain and that were forged with the same lost wax technique that was used for statues in ancient Greece.

Bvlgari Dolci

Overlooking lovely Via delle Frezza, Italy’s first Bvlgari Dolci boutique showcases signature Bvlgari sweets such as Bvlgari’s hand-crafted chocolate gems as well as a selection of traditional Italian pastries from the La Pasticceria - Niko Romito menu.

Lunch in a Private Home

This exclusive experience takes guests behind the doors of some of the city’s most magnificent private residences, experiencing refined dining and breathtaking views of Rome’s spectacular centuries-old architecture.

The Streets of Artists and Artisans

Traditionally, Campo Marzio is the area of Rome where artists and artisans lived and worked. Known for its ateliers, it was a destination for potential customers to come and discover vibrant craftsmanship and one-of-a-kind pieces. This heritage is still alive today, and visitors can still wander the area to explore the shops of marble workers, mosaic makers, framers and antique dealers. This fascinating walking tour provides a window into Rome’s past that is still very much alive today.

Art Behind the Scenes

As night falls, guests are invited to discover Rome’s museums in a more intimate way, exploring the full grandeur of the Eternal City’s sumptuous past. Private access allows for an up-close view of the countless treasures ensconced in the city’s most prestigious palaces, churches and art collections.

Countryside Escape

Private lunches and extraordinary discoveries await, as guests experience some of Rome’s most beautiful countryside residences. Guests are invited to immerse themselves in nature and architecture, and uncover some of the most fascinating stories of the region.

Dining

Il Ristorante – Niko Romito

Il Ristorante – Niko Romito is located on the fifth floor of the hotel and provides a splendid view over the monumental tomb of the Emperor Augustus, making full use of a large terrace area. The atmosphere is elegant and welcoming, with mahogany walls, Bvlgari artwork and seating for up to 54.

As created by Chef Niko, the menu reinvents contemporary Italian cuisine in a concept that has been developed exclusively for Bvlgari Hotels and Resorts. The most iconic traditional recipes have been re-written to emphasise their essential nature, purity and lightness, and then entrusted to the hands and talent of Emilio Di Cristo, who was sous chef of the Bvlgari Resort Dubai for four years.

Bvlgari Bar

The Bvlgari Bar is the perfect place to socialise while sipping iconic cocktails. The sumptuous black marble bar top is finished with 110 Murano glass twirls that are hand blown with gold dust by Barovier&Toso. These precious jewels diffuse the light, infusing aperitivo hour and evening with a magical glow. For fine weather there is an outside bar and two large terraces, one that looks onto Via di Ripetta, and the other onto Piazza Augusto Imperatore. The Bvlgari Bar can welcome 108 guests indoors and 108 outside.

Il Caffè

Set on the ground floor, Il Caffè offers a relaxed atmosphere and spacious outdoor area beneath the monumental porticos of Piazza Augusto Imperatore and is decorated with large planters filled with flowers and other native greenery. Il Caffè, the first of its kind in Italy and the first created by Niko Romito, is the perfect place to enjoy a coffee, a traditional Roman lunch or Sunday brunch.

The Bvlgari Lounge

Alongside the entrance foyer, with a view onto Piazza Augusto Imperatore, the Lobby Lounge is reserved for hotel guests throughout the day. It provides a refined and exclusive atmosphere, with a menu that ranges from afternoon tea to aperitif.

Champagne Bar

This intimate and private space is dedicated to champagne lovers: here they can enjoy a special Dom Pérignon trolley with the best vintages of the maison from Épernay.

The atmosphere pays tribute to the Roman tradition of garden frescoes. This trompe l’oeil technique magically dissolves the physical limits imposed by walls and creates the illusion of being surrounded by a lush garden.

In partnership with Pictalab, a lush Roman landscape has been created, dotted with pines, peacocks and ancient ruins against the background of the Tiber valley. All of the wicker furniture has been supplied by Bonacina 1889.

La Terrazza

La Terrazza is the Hotel’s spectacular rooftop terrace, and home to sweeping views over all of Rome, from Villa Medici and Trinità dei Monti to the Tiber and the Janiculum Hill. As the day goes on, the atmosphere shifts: it is a place to relax in the sun during the day, sip a glamorous aperitif at sunset, or sparkle under the starry sky after dark. A romantic and exclusive hideout, it serves the same menu as the Bvlgari Bar.

The landscaping was designed by P’arcnouveau as quintessential Roman terrace, with over 200 enamel pots and a large variety of local plants and flowers. Inspiration was taken from the gardens at the villas of ancient Rome, such as the Livia’s and Hadrian’s. The flooring has been entirely made using the opus spicatum technique and a mosaic fountain with the Bvlgari star – the hotel’s symbol – pays tribute to the numerous fountains in the city around which Romans like to sit and chat.
